Viola just went into surgery. I was able to go in with her as they put her asleep....very sad! I will update as soon as I get some news!

Viola has Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) located very high on the septum (heart wall), close to the Aortic Valve. The flow across the VSD can injure the leaflets of the valve causing it to leak (A.K.A. Aortic Regurgitation).
Viola had surgery to repair the VSD on Oct 14, 2009 at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Visit their website: http://montekids.org/
